San Rafael, CA - $5 1929 Ty. 2 First National Bank Ch. # 12640 PMG Very Fine 25.A pleasing example from this much in demand Marin County bank, which, despite receiving its charter in 1925, elected to issue Series 1929 examples only. This was the sole bank in San Rafael. This piece represents a community with far more collectors than notes, with most of the reported examples having been closely held for years. This new entrant to the census is the first Type 2 $5 to surface from this popular California bank.
