Bold Issued Three Dollars with Red Ends

Little Falls, NY- Herkimer County Bank $3 Nov. 15, 1858 NY-1220 G54a SENC PMG Very Fine 25.
The capstone of this red ended triple and simply gorgeous. The color is vibrant and the paper with much natural body. Like nearly all of these Little Falls notes, the only examples we are aware of or have cataloged. Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson full red security end panels outlining tall "3." Added "ABC" monogram. Eagle at the center. Left end, New York Bank seal. Right end, girl facing in oval with rake. The outlined protectors are especially well pronounced boasting vibrant definition. Minor repairs and a small amount of ink burn is observed in the president's signature. This will be beautiful in any Three Dollar Bill collection or Empire State note cabinet.
