Very Rare Flagstaff Small Size - One of Three Reported
Flagstaff, AZ - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. #
11120 PMG Very Fine 25.While large notes from this northern Arizona community are occasionally available due to their survival in the Snowflake hoard, Series 1929 examples are quite another matter. This offering is one of just three small size reported from this tough charter, likely because of this institution's very small issue before it closed its doors in January of 1931. Tracing its provenance to the sale of The Peter Huntoon Collection over fifteen years ago, this $10 is a bright and crisp note that has sustained just moderate, problem free wear. By way of comparison, last year, we auctioned a $5 in a PMG Fine 15 holder with some staining, for $7,500.
