Hoyer & Ludwig produced 73,355 examples of this lithographed $5 note that was issued between July 29 and September 7, 1861. It has vignettes of Liberty seated with an eagle by a framed 5 at center and a sailor at lower left. This variety is printed on heavy bond paper with for printed before Treasr. The restoration mentioned by PMG is along the top and left edges. Several small splits and nicks were sealed.
