Description

T6 $50 1861 PF-1 Cr. 6 PMG About Uncirculated 55 Net.
The T6 $50 was, in addition to the T5 $100, part of the first printing contract tackled by the Southern Bank Note Company (in actuality the New Orleans branch of the ABNCo.) after northern printers were raided and forced to suspend any further work on Confederate orders. In order to ease the burden on the tiny shop in New Orleans, only pre-war vignettes that were on hand were used in this design (and all others). The lower right margin has been repaired.
