Continental Currency January 14, 1779 $70 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.This $70 note is tied with one other example as the highest graded by PMG. The signatures remain bold on this piece We have now offered only five different examples of this note. Originally, $7 and $8 notes were to be issued and printed on a lower-denomination pane. However, when the need arose for higher denominations such as $70 and $80 due to inflation, these two denominations were authorized and printed.
