South Carolina February 8, 1779 $50 PMG About Uncirculated 50.The $50 value has a vignette of Providence standing by a globe with the motto PROVIDENTIA NOSTRIS PRAESIDEAT (Let foresight guide us) on the face and another bold vignette, signed by Coram, of Atlas carrying the world on his shoulders. The note is well printed on bright paper with clear design details, ample margins, and bold signatures of Edward Prescot, Joseph Atkinson, and John Scott. PMG mentions a repair which is apparently a short sealed edge nick in the top center margin (viewed from the face) and some rust specks on the back.
