Description

Premium Condition Benjamin Franklin-Printed 1759 Delaware 20s Issue

Delaware June 1, 1759 20s PMG About Uncirculated 55.
Printed over 260 years ago, this note is still in very close to the same condition that it was in when Benjamin Franklin and David Hall printed it. It is one of the nicest surviving examples known, with the signatures of David Hall, Wm. Armstrong, and J(ohn) Barnes. Margins are clear and straight, and the note is well inked, with wonderful back vignettes of leaves and a rather fearsome lion. All of the penned information is dark and bold. The perfect choice for Delaware in a thirteen colonies collection. Examples of this Franklin printed note, almost never approach this grade level. In fact, it is presently the finest recorded in the PMG Population Report by a wide margin, with the next highest recorded example coming in with a grade of Extremely Fine 45 EPQ.
