Description

Philadelphia, PA - $20 1875 Fr. 431 The NB of the Republic Ch. # 1647
A rare type and denomination from this scarce Philadelphia bank that issued First and Second Charter notes only before liquidating in 1898. This First Charter $20 is new to the census and is a pleasing example for the grade with great color and signatures. A couple of decades ago, these early notes could be readily found in the marketplace but increased demand has completely dried up the supply. PMG Fine 12.
