Raton, NM - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The NB of New Mexico Ch. # 8098While large notes are scarce from this northern New Mexico bank, Series 1929 examples are prohibitively rare, having been issued for only nine months before the bank closed its doors forever in May of 1930. Only a relative handful of sheets were issued, with the census standing at only three examples. Of that number, only this one piece has been available at public sale since 1990, with its last offering coming in our 1994 CAA Memphis sale, where, even at that time, it fetched $1980. Expect it to bring a substantial multiple of that figure tonight. Bright PCGS Very Fine 25.
