Pleasing Mid Grade Triple Signature Gold Certificate
Fr. 1175a $20 1882 Triple Signature Gold Certificate PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.When we last sold this note in our February 2005 auction, it hammered for $19,000. Track & Price lists only a total of 27 Fr. 1175a's, only one of which is high grade. In fact, this VF 30 is well more than half up the census. The Apparent grade has been assigned for a small edge repair at left, which, while present, is extremely minor. The note has excellent color with even the gold of the back retaining its full bright orange hue.
