Fr. 817 $10 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Gem New 65PPQ.This stunner nearly doubled its $6000-up estimate when we offered it in our 2006 Long Beach Auction, settling at $11,500. The piece was offered as a raw Gem and our inspection and description revealed, "Natural paper ripple and embossing adorn this $10 that is newly discovered but falls nicely within a CU run of notes in the census." The paper is indeed excellent, and the margins are larger than usually encountered on large size Federal Reserve Bank Notes.
