Description

Cazenovia, NY - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 490 The Cazenovia NB Ch. # 5675
Although this small rural community was home to two issuing banks, it remains a very tough location from which to acquire even one note, as Cazenovia's first bank only issued First Charters, and its second bank only issued large size notes before departing with a mere $410 outstanding in 1935. Only eight large notes are reported on this bank including this piece, which is the only $10 Brown Back in the census. Some minor edge work has been noted by PCGS, but this is still a pleasing note with excellent color and bold pen signatures. PCGS Apparent Fine 12.
