Description

Strawn, TX - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The First NB Ch. # 10229
Strawn is located in Palo Pinto County and named for Bethel Strawn, who helped settle the area in 1875. Oil and gas production are the economic mainstays here, although the town never developed into much more than a wide spot in the road, with a population peak of just 1000 back in 1940. Just two large and three small notes are known from this bank, with one of the large notes forever impounded in the Philpott/Moody holdings. Fine, with the bottom left margin a bit chewed into.
