Description

Fr. 1382 Fractional Currency Shield, With Gray Background.
An attractively framed shield, although the frame does display wear and minor damage in places. The frame appears to be older, but not contemporary to the period. The shield itself lacks many of the problems that are often seen, including large water stains and large tears. Although there are a few tears, they are small and minor overall and are noticed only at the outer edges, well outside of the design. Areas of paper pull and what appears to be adhesive residue are seen, with those also noticed solely outside of the design. The hand-signed 10ยข Third Issue note bears the Colby-Spinner signature combination while the other hand-signed notes were signed by Jeffries-Spinner. The majority of the notes display toning of the paper.
