Ithaca, NY- Charles W. (?) Lord 4¢ Aug. 1, 1843 Harris H41 Remainder PMG Very Fine 20.There is some circumstantial evidence suggesting this may have been Charles Webster Lord, involved in an unspecified business, who died in 1844. In any case, this is a very rare New York odd denomination scrip note that we are offering for the first time. A companion 8¢ sold for just under $750 seventeen years ago. A split and stains are mentioned on the PMG back label.
