St. Joseph, FL- Commercial Bank of Florida at Bank of the United States $10 Post Note 18__ G58 Benice 5 Remainder PCGS Very Fine 25.The Commercial Bank of Florida's parent branch was located in Apalachicola. This piece hails from an unauthorized St. Joseph branch, and it was printed with plates which were originally used for the Apalachicola branch but were then altered for the St. Joseph branch. Four iconic American figures are featured on the face of the note; George Washington is at upper left, Chief Justice John Marshall is at lower left, Robert Fulton is at upper right, and Benjamin Franklin is at lower right. An antebellum steamboat graces the center. We last auctioned this exact piece in October 2024 for $264.
