Alabama Furnace, AL- Alabama Iron Company 5¢ 187_ Gunther-Derby AO-101-$.05a Rosene 307-1 Remainder PMG Choice Very Fine 35.Printed by Cornwell Bros. & Vogle of New York, this scrip note was payable in dry goods at the Alabama Iron Company's store. The portrait at left is of Stephen Smith Glidden, the company's president who would have also signed this note if it had been issued. An ornate green back completes the design. We have auctioned just one issued representative prior to now. That piece, which was graded Fine, realized $308 in September 2001. Our current Choice VF remainder offering has no meaningful condition impairments.
