Houston, TX- Government of Texas $20 Dec. 31, 1838 Cr. H19
Medlar 63 PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ.The Government of Texas authorized this $20 to be issued under the Act of June 9, 1837. Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. designed the layouts for each denomination. At left on this charming, entirely original piece is a vignette of Minerva standing with a spear and shield. At right of center, Liberty holds a spear as she reclines with a federal shield. While obtainable in VF and lower grades, this denomination is a bit more prohibitive in grades such as that which our current offering has achieved. In July 2025, we auctioned a PMG Choice AU 58 EPQ certified representative of this number which brought $2,160. The usual cut cancels are present on this note.
