Description

Austin, TX- Consolidated Fund of Texas $100 Nov. 20, 1839 Cr. UNL Medlar UNL PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30.
Multiple traits distinguish our current offering as a previously unlisted variety. The word "his" has been printed on lines two and seven, before "heirs" and "legal." "Houston" has been crossed out and replaced with "Austin" in brown ink. An "R" watermark appears within the paper. Interestingly, an engraving error is present in the enumerated date of passage for the Act authorizing this piece to be issued. Instead of the correct "7th day of June, 1837," the printer has misspelled the month as "Jund." The usual cut cancels are present. We have not auctioned this variation previously and should see our estimate tested or exceeded.
