Rare Three Cent Invert
Fr. 1226 3¢ Third Issue Inverted Back PMG Extremely Fine
40.A lovely XF of this very rare Invert. Photo matching with both Friedberg and O'Mara shows this was not either of those notes. At the time the Friedberg encyclopedia was printed, only four examples were known. We believe that only two others have surfaced since then. In the 1934 Valentine book, the author claims the Inverts all come from plate #2. This is a misconception apparently created because the plate number on plate 2 was inverted.
