Description

Inverted "S" Surcharge Error Fr. 1286 Milton 2R25.3g Second Issue PCGS Banknote Choice AU 58.
A mere four examples of this only "S" surcharge invert error were known when Milton Friedberg's Encyclopedia was published in the year 2000. This invert is very rare on an issued note. The curlicue (anvil) in the "S" should be on the bottom, but the curlicue (anvil) is on the top when the "S" is inverted as in this case. The other end of the "S" surcharge is known as the "diamond." All three surcharges on this example are nicely defined.
