Description

T24 $10 1861 PF-7 Cr. 161 PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ.
Some Confederate designs created "strange bedfellows" with this Keatinge & Ball product pairing R.M.T. Hunter, Secretary of State, with a portrait of northern minister, Rev. Dr. Alfred L. Elwyn as a child. Elwyn's portrait was apparently used because 1. it was available and 2. it was aesthetically pleasing. The average person in the street who received the note would, after all, have no idea who the child was. This note is well framed and printed on bright paper with colors that retain their original unoxidized hues.
