Yellow Springs, (OH)- Yellow Springs Exchange 5¢ Dec. 31, 1934 Crisp Uncirculated.
The Yellow Springs Exchange was a barter system organization established during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Arthur Morgan created the Yellow Springs Exchange and Midwest Exchange in 1932. According to one announcement, they were established to "help people exchange what they have for what they want." The Exchange functioned until 1933 when the National Recovery Act was enacted.
