Description

Philadelphia, PA- Bank of North America $5 18__ as G174b About Uncirculated, 6 POCs.
Issued by one of the storied names in American banking, this note offers a striking appearance with orange counters and an orange 5 - FIVE - 5 protector complementing a large allegorical vignette of an Indian maiden representing Liberty seated behind a large V by an eagle and shield. This bicolor proof was not represented in the landmark 1990 ABNCo Archives Sale and we have only identified two public auction appearances of this wonderful design in the last two decades. Glue around the back edges as well as some tears, all likely from removal of this Proof from cardstock. One of only a couple known.
