Description

New Orleans, LA- I.L. Wilbur $1 Mar. 15, 1862 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 20.
Wilbur was associated with an omnibus line, one of several operating in New Orleans, and had an office, rather uniquely, under the St. Charles Hotel. This mode of transportation can be seen in the green overprint that adorns this neat little scrip note issued in New Orleans about six weeks before the city surrendered to a Union naval task force. PCGS notes minor restorations.
