Description

San Francisco, CA- Bradley & Rulofson $1 Advertising Note 1874 Vlack UNL PCGS Banknote Choice VF 35.
This "One Dollar Gold Note" was issued by the San Francisco photography firm of Bradley & Rulofson and dates from 1874, making its issue contemporaneous with the circulation of National Gold Bank Notes in the west. Indeed, it is done in imitation of National Gold Bank Notes, right down to the tinted paper. There are a lot of neat little details on this note such as it promoting the claim that the firm had "the only elevator connected with photography in the world." This note has always been extremely popular with collectors of Nationals, Advertising Notes, California-related material, and Obsoletes, and should again attract active bidding attention this evening.
