Fifteen Different Naramore Counterfeit Detector Photographs ND (1866) Not Graded.
The Naramore detectors were created with permission by the United States Treasury Department National Currency Bureau (later, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing) and produced from Treasury Department Proofs. The nine initial Legal Tender denominations, $1 to $1,000, and Original Series National Bank Notes (on various national banks), $1 to $1,000 denominations, were photographed, reduced to one-fourth size, and mounted on cardstock measuring approximately 4 by 2.5 inches. Fifteen of the 18 cards are in this lot. Missing are the $1 and $1,000 Legals plus the $1,000 National. (Total: 15 items)
