Description

Continental Currency May 20, 1777 $8 Contemporary Counterfeit Choice New. A rather deceptive counterfeit, printed by the Tories in an effort to undermine the economy of our fledgling independent nation. Both signatures are authentic looking, but the nature print on the back is extremely muddy. A scarce counterfeit of the second scarcest issue of Continental Currency. For decades, Continental Counterfeits paced the market for genuines in value, and as Continental grows in popularity, the trend of counterfeits and genuine notes' being of equal value seems to be continuing.
