Milledgeville, GA- State of Georgia/R.D. Mann Overprint Advertising Note 50¢ Jan. 1, 1863This is a genuine note that has been overprinted on the back by general ticket agent, R.D. Mann of Atlanta. Mr. Mann was located at No. 4 Kimball House from which he sold railroad and steamship tickets. He is known to have overprinted Confederate notes and Southern Obsoletes with his advertisements. These ad notes have become popular collectibles in their own right. This piece was folded into eighths and carried in a wallet resulting in an approximate half inch edge tear and internal splits, and with the back showing more wear than the face. Good-Very Good.
