Incredible Pair of 500 Thalers Color Trial Specimens
Ethiopia Bank of Abyssinia 500 Thalers ND (1915-1929) Pick
5cts1; 5cts2 Uniface Face and Back Color Trial Specimens PMG
Choice Uncirculated 64.Rare in issued condition since virtually all were called and redeemed when the Bank of Ethiopia opened in 1932, this pair of color trial specimens offers the opportunity to acquire this design. The face reflects more use of green than was utilized for production while the back color trial specimen makes use of a much lighter green and yellow palette rather than the darker colors used for issued notes. PMG notes that both impressions have been previously mounted and that there is some foreign substance present on the back example.
