The Russian Provisional Government produced these Credit Notes shortly after the Revolution of 1917. Denominations up to 1000 Rubles were prepared, though issued examples of the 500 and 1000 Ruble denominations are not listed in the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money. Specimens presented at auction reveal the beauty of the finished design for these notes, with this denomination featuring a woman seated at left holding a globe. The multi-colored design is one an incredible design executed by the most talented engravers.

This steel plate features the face design and includes all the elements of black ink that were applied to the final notes. Like the other plates offered here, it is beautiful, original, and effectively problem free. The date 1919 appearson the two highest denominations, possibly indicating that they were produced after the 25 through 100 Ruble denominations were prepared. An historic offering boasting one of the most beauiful designs known in world paper money.
