Curacao Curacaosche Bank 50 Gulden 1855 Pick A14 PMG Very Fine 25.
At the time of cataloging, PMG has graded only two examples of this highest denomination banknote. Both of these graded notes are offered in this impressive Toele collection. We have not offered any banknote of this 1855 series in the past and may not see them again in the future. Only 1,200 notes of this denomination were issued. This example is outstanding for the type, with bold inking and bright paper. The lengthy notation on the back is to be expected for the type. Part of a collection of five Curacao banknotes dated 1855 offered in this dedicated auction. Not to be overlooked as this is certainly one of the rarest of all Caribbean banknotes.
