Low Serial Number 4 Fr. 1937-D* $2 2003 Federal Reserve Star Note. PCGS Banknote Choice Uncirculated 64 PPQ.This deuce star note from the Cleveland district bears a low serial number of D00000004*. In July 2022, an Fr. 1937-L* San Francisco Deuce with the same low serial number 4 crossed our auction block for $1,320. In that same auction, a serial number 3 Fr. 1935-C* Philadelphia Deuce realized $2,760. A few months prior to that, in May 2022, we offered a serial number 7 Fr. 1937-A* Boston Deuce that realized $2,280. Low serial number single digit $2 FRN stars are a great rarity, and we expect this piece to easily exceed our estimate.
