One of Two Known 1934 $10,000s from Atlanta

Just two 1934 Atlanta $10,000 Federal Reserve notes are known extant - this example and serial number 19. Both notes were discovered at the same time in 1996, with no new survivors coming forward. The other example is also circulated, and was offered by us in 2005 graded Extremely Fine. Series 1934 $10,000s were printed in paltry numbers. Only 2,400 notes were printed, assuring that with redemption and attrition, there would be few survivors. Only one other district is rarer amongst the 1934 emission, that is the Richmond district, of which there is only one survivor. That Richmond note was last offered in our Taylor Family Collection Auction in 2005.
