Description

Near-Superb Chicago 1934A $1,000 Federal Reserve Note

Fr. 2212-G $1,000 1934A Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
Chicago is easily the most common district for surviving 1934 and 1934A $1,000 Federal Reserve Notes. Some could conjecture Mob influence in the city led to a larger than normal demand for high denominations in the city. What is not common is the availability of this grade. In the last four years, we have offered just one other Gem example of this note, a 66 EPQ that realized $19,200. The demand for high grade $1,000s has only surged since then, so a price over $20,000 could easily be justified this evening.
