Original Pack of 100 Chicago $5 1928A FRNs
Fr. 1951-G $5 1928A Federal Reserve Notes. Original Pack of 100.
PCGS Banknote Choice Unc 64 PPQ.This lot contains the only pack of 100 from any district that we have offered for Series 1928A $5s. In fact, we auctioned this original pack in January 2009 for $11,500, before it was third party graded. This cataloger was able to examine each note at the time and found that each exhibited natural paper wave and embossing. We would like to add that natural paper wave and serial number embossing are observed on both outside notes through the third party pack holder. This pack is held by an early small size BEP band that is without the star note statement. The band has a date and possibly a teller's name penciled on it. Very few early small size packs have been able to escape the rigors of time.
