Description

China People's Bank of China 10 Yuan 1953 Pick 870 S/M#C283-14 PMG Very Fine 30.
The earliest series of the People's Bank of China featured many ultra high denomination notes to keep up with persistent and rampant inflation in the late 1940s and early 1950s. A new series of post-devaluation notes dates dated 1953-1962 were officially issued in 1955, replacing old Yuan notes at a rate of 10,000:1. This 10 Yuan was the highest denomination of the devaluation series and it represented a serious amount of money in mid-1950s China. This type only circulated for approximately 9 to 10 years before being withdrawn in 1964. Circulation and minor rust are mentioned for accuracy. Immediately recognizable and desirable in any grade.

PMG Very Fine 30。
