Low Serial Number 7 Fr. 298 $10 1891 Silver Certificate PCGS
Banknote Choice Unc 63.Low serial number Tombstone notes are difficult to obtain and always popular when they do make an appearance in one of our auctions. A small run of Fr. 298 $10 Silvers with serials ranging from E1 to E9 were saved by an astute individual at the notes' time of issuance. These representatives have achieved grades ranging from 50 to 67, according to the Track & Price Census. This E7 numbered piece has reached a grade level towards the upper portion of that array. We auctioned the E5 numbered example in August 2014 for $7,050. Expect this piece to attain a similar realization. PCGS Banknote comments on minor corner restoration which is located at upper right.
