Fr. 224 $1 1896 Silver Certificate PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
Possessing ideal color and well margined on all four sides, this lovely notes is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The History Instructing Youth vignette has been a perennial favorite amongst collectors dating back to at least the early part of the 20th century. The border lists many prominent Americans in the fields of government, military, science, and literature. A few of these men have their portraits on the back of Series of 1896 notes. The last several examples that we have offered at this grade level have all fetched at least $6,000.
