Fr. 328 $50 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 20.An attractive and problem free example, this tough $50 Silver Certificate was first handled by us in our 1997 FUN auction. It is one of just 27 pieces listed in Track & Price and that figure has changed little for several years. We also know that seven of the 27 are held by government and institution collections and several others have some flaws. This rare note is a happy exception and exhibits even wear, great color, and more than ample margins. In the past year, a PMG Fine 12 note has sold for $9,000, and a PMG Very Fine 30 example brought $24,000.
