Fr. 326 $50 1880 Silver Certificate PMG Very Fine 20.An extremely rare Friedberg number, this example is one of a mere six pieces in the latest Track & Price census. One of those six is held permanently in the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank Collection. This is the only Fr. 326 that we have auctioned since January, 1996, and also the only example to appear in any auction since 2013. There were only four known in January, 1996, and in the intervening 25 years, only two others have surfaced. This is one of the rarest items in this or any paper money auction and definitely a treasure to be pursued by the serious collector. This piece has been restored, but it still has a nice mid-grade appearance.
