69 PPQ.The Black Eagle is a fairly obtainable type across nearly all numbers, with even the higher grades being available to collectors. Once the Superb Gem Uncirculated level is reached, however, representatives become prohibitively rare and strongly vied for. Our current offering is still more elusive, as it has achieved the highest attainable Superb Gem Unc grade from PCGS Banknote at the 69 PPQ level. Blazing white and fully original paper surfaces characterize this spectacular piece, as do resplendent ink colors, serial number and Treasury Seal embossing, nearly flawless face to back registration, impeccable centering with balanced margins, and brilliant eye appeal. To put the truly unparalleled nature of this representative's grade into perspective, we turn to the PMG and PCGS Banknote Population Reports. While PMG has certified 1,428 notes of this number, the firm has granted just two pieces the PMG Superb Gem Unc 68 EPQ grade, with none higher. Similarly, at PCGS Banknote, the company has graded 259 examples of this number, with the next finest representative behind our current offering being certified at the PCGS Banknote Superb Gem Unc 68 PPQ level.
