Fr. 69 $5 1878 Legal Tender PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.This 1878 Woodchopper $5 is always popular with collectors thanks to the extravagant red floral embellishment at right that complements the red Treasury seal and serial numbers as well as the blue security stain. The note's bright paper with original surfaces, bold color palette, as well as excellent margins and centering, have earned it the assigned grade. As a frame of reference, an equivalently graded note in the PMG statistics serves as the "top pop" note at present.
