ABNCo Face and Back Proof designs for the 1861 $10 Demand Note are in this lot, with the face being boldly printed. Serial number 00000 is printed in red ink on this plate letter D example payable at Philadelphia and with "for the" printed before the Treasury officials' offices. Both designs are printed on India paper, with only the face being mounted to cardstock. The face has six POCs through the note and cardstock, while a smaller seventh POC is located in the bottom margin at center and only the India paper is punched. The back design has four POCs and stains are noticed on both sides. The population for Hessler 463C is just five for the face design with only a single plate letter D example listed on page 22 of Hessler's second edition. (Total: 2 notes)
