Fr. 1225c $10,000 1900 Gold Certificate PMG About Uncirculated 53.Our current offering was a survivor of the Washington, D.C., Old Post Office fire which occurred on December 13, 1935. In an attempt to eliminate combustible materials from the already raging fire, firefighters tossed many notes, such as the piece in this lot, out of the establishment's windows. This example was payable to the National City Bank of New York. PMG indicates the presence of cancellations, spindle holes, and small tears.
