Description

Sole Highest PMG Graded Fr. 827

Fr. 827 $20 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.
When we originally auctioned this note in April 2008 as part of The Tom Flynn Collection, it was the highest graded example by PMG of this rare Friedberg number. The same holds true today, as it still stands alone atop the 19 pieces that PMG has graded, 17 years later. Our examination finds only a faint vertical center fold through the third party encapsulation. Track & Price has enumerated only 41 serial numbers for Fr. 827, with three serials locked away in the collections of the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. There are also two more examples taking up residence at the Smithsonian Institution. This Kansas City FRBN Friedberg number has the signatures of Acting Secretary J. L(eland) Cross and Governor J(oseph) Z(achery) Miller.
