Fr. 162 $50 1880 Legal Tender PMG Choice Fine 15.Friedberg 162 is a very scarce sleeper number, with a census of only 26 examples in all grades. It is easily overshadowed by the similar appearing Fr. 164, with 250 pieces known. Even the massive Flynn collection that we sold in 2008 lacked a Fr. 162. This number should sell for just a bit more than the Fr. 164, but offers much more value. The PMG back label mentions a foreign substance observed on the back and pinholes.
