Description

Multiple Impression $1 Error

Complete Multiple Impression (4th Printing) of Back on Face Error Fr. 1915-E $1 1988A Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.
A complete multiple impression error which exactly fits the description of the error type on page 198 of the second edition of US Error Note Encyclopedia by Stephen M. Sullivan. Also, it is stated on that page that this is the rarest of the non-standard multiple impression errors. The note in this lot has an extra complete dark impression of the back on the face, which is sometimes referred to as a "4th Print Error." Another characteristic of this error is that the back plate numbers are the same on all known examples of this error. The back plate number of "172" is found on both sides of this great error note.
