Religious Tract Overprint Fr. 18 $1 1869 Legal Tender PCGS Banknote Choice VF 35.Quite a curiosity is found in this Choice VF 1869 $1 Legal that features a bronze-like religious tract overprint on the back of the note as mentioned by PCGS Banknote. The overprint itself was done by the Prisoner's Friend Tract Association located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Biblical verse Isaiah 56:10, The Lord's Prayer, and warnings of false prophets can be located within the text that covers most of the back. This is the first time we have ever come across a religious overprint such as this. A small edge split is mentioned.
